Wow, when I talked about Back To School for your dog I never thought I would hear about a dog getting a degree from college.
Here is the story:
Ada, Ohio (AP) – A well-trained golden retriever will receive a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University today along with the rest of the graduating class. Zeeke, a 1-year-old dog, will earn his bachelor’s of science degree in canine companionship.
The canine has spent thousands of hours training as a Canine Companion dog as part of a senior’s honors project. ONU President, Kendall Baker, said he believes this is the first time the university has ever awarded a diploma to an animal.
In any event…
I’m sure most of you aren’t looking to get a college degree for your dog. You probably want your dog to walk on leash without pulling, to stop jumping and come back when called.

Wow, instead of driving down to your local ATM all you need to do is follow your dog around the yard. Watch the video…
It’s a funny video but stealing is a serious behavior problem for a lot of dog owners.
Please leave your comments and questions so I can help others who have this problem with their dogs.

A few weeks back I met with a nice couple to help them with their eight month old labra-doodle.
As we were going through some leash walking exercises the wife turned to me and said:
“You make this all look so easy.”
I had to suppress a chuckle as I thought back on all the times I had made a complete fool out of myself trying to learn how to train dogs.
I know firsthand what it’s like to get yanked so hard that it felt like my elbow was going to leave my arm.
My most painful leash walking memory is the time I was working with a young husky on leash walking.
I was at the park and there were some girls playing Frisbee. Trying to look cool I started working the husky.
The husky being much smarter than me somehow ran around behind me, wrapping my legs up in the leash and I fell flat on my face, much to the amusement of the girls who were watching.
Why am I sharing all of this with you?
Because I have a new video to show you some basic leash training techniques.
Once you understand and work on the basics you can get much better results.
Here you go:
All the best

Last night I was sitting on the couch with my laptop, I looked over at my wife Rachael, and asked her if she wanted my autograph.
She raised her eyebrows and gave me the "Give me a break" look.
I then showed her the number of views on one of my videos – 103,298 views. She informed that it was great that one of my videos has been viewed over 100,000 times but that NO, she did not want my autograph and went back to reading her book.
Anyway, the video is on leash walking.
Training your dog to walk on leash is extremely important and a lot of people have a tough time when it comes to this command. Now you’ll know the secret:

Okay, so I’m 41 years old but I still love Halloween. October in New England is a great time of the year. All the pumpkins, flowers and colors are incredible.
Last night we did some decorating for Halloween and Rach started laughing. When I asked her what she was laughing about she said: "Do you remember that video you did last year?"
Remember it?
My friends still make fun of me. Where else will you see a guy in a wig dancing like Michael Jackson after dressing up like Jason from Friday the 13th holding a chainsaw talking about safety. The video is on Halloween safety tips for your dog. In case you missed last year’s video you can watch it here:
Enjoy!
